The goal of ESC’s nonprofit governance course is to familiarize participants with governance issues and provide resources for working with nonprofits.
Course Overview
Nonprofit boards play a critical role in ensuring that organizations operate ethically, strategically, and in alignment with their mission.
As a volunteer consultant, understanding how nonprofit boards function will help you:
- Make recommendations that strengthen leadership and accountability
- Apply your skills, knowledge, and abilities to help client boards manage key governance and organizational issues
- Understand the organizational structure of non-profits
- Assist boards in incorporating DEIB principles into their decision-making and actions
This course introduces the core principles of nonprofit board governance and how consultants can apply this knowledge when working with nonprofit organizations. The course may take approximately two hours.
