New Project: Strategic Planning with A Better City

ESC has undertaken a strategic planning project with A Better City (ABC), which is a civic organization comprised of over 130 of Boston’s top business leaders. The mission of ABC is to enhance the Greater Boston region’s economic health, competitiveness, equitable growth, sustainability, and quality of life for all communities. Specifically, ABC focuses on transportation and infrastructure, land use and development, and energy and environment.

As part of its efforts to learn about challenges and opportunities, the ESC team has conducted extensive interviews with over 35 prominent individuals representing both the private and public sectors. In addition, they will conduct interviews with senior staff members at several organizations in other cities that have similar characteristics and missions to ABC. With this information as a backdrop, the ESC team will work with ABC to create a new 5-year strategic plan.

ABC is among a handful of civic organizations that promote and enable collaboration among business and government leaders in Greater Boston. Their deep research and ability to present their findings to these groups has been crucial to advancing new policies and program initiatives in the city and across the region. We’re confident that ESC’s efforts will help ABC be an effective leader for years to come.
